A day or 2 of hell

This week hasn't been much fun, as some of you are aware our net has been on the blip for the past week (seems to be working again now). However due to this i haven't been able to get on long enough to check my bank account. And unbeknownst to me i ended up spending over my overdraft not once, but twice. Usually though if i happen to go over a block will kick in and stop me spending anymore. However because this didn't kick in and i hadn't realised i had so little left in my account i have now got 2 £35 bank charges (one for each transaction) all for about £8 worth of goods. I found out about these yesterday and was rather pissed off to find when i rang Halifax to get some bullshit automated message on the charges line.
Then it got worse. I was due to be paid today, so I didn't worry too much about being sat in the red, however the stupid cock fags at payroll ballsed up the transfer from my old store (yeah from over 12months ago) though the transfer was only put through this august. This resulted in my employment being terminated as opposed to being transfered. I checked my account this morning and had no wages. Strange i thought. But thought to leave it till the banks were open and check again. So 9:30am came checked again and still no wages. So i rang payroll who explained 'sorry Mr Wills but you're not owed any wages' you what? i said 'your employment was terminated as of the 7th Aug so infact you've been over paid by a week.'  Well that's new's to me i replied. 'Ah' said the woman at payroll, 'so you're still working for us then?'  Yes i said and have been for the last 11 and a bit years.
So now i've got to wait for the pen pushers to fix the fucking problem, with not clue yet as to when i'm going to get paid.

Suicidal Tendencies

So a few months ago at work, they decided that they were going to have a massive cycling event in aid of their charity of the year (the RNID). What a good idea i thought, sign me up for it I said.

Well said event is tomorrow, and looking out of my window i'm starting to regret it. You see this cycling event is a LeManns style 24 hours cycling event in teams of 12 (or there abouts) which in theory would mean i'd have to do 2 1 hours stints around a racecourse - Thruxton to be precise. However it seems we don't have teams of 12 but more like 8 or 9, which is bad for me as it means i'll have to do even more :(

To make things worse the weather seems to have taken a turn for the shit, and i'm camping there. They have organised a band to play tomorrow evening and there's a beer tent, and plenty of other stuff to do, but I have a feeling it'll end up being like Glastonbury, only on a bike.

Also i haven't rode a bike in years and haven't done any work on improving my fitness in preperation for this, so with any luck i'll be carted off to the nearest hospital after my first hour and wont have to worry about sleeping in a soggy field.

Weekend fun

Such lack of faith they all had in me with my fireworks, just cause they said please allow 25 meters and we had merely 5 in which to launch. (thus said if it hadn't been damp out it could have been a different story) We started the celebrations off with some major rockets, which some people were watching in awe from a balocony at the back of the house (they dissapeared inside very quickly when they realised they could be in line of the launch path). After sending up 5 of them i set off the big ass roman candle (this was the one which could have caused the problems) it started small and rose to about 20feet high spraying all over the place, luckily the fence was damp. Lastly we had the 55 gun salvo :) this was cool, continuous barrage of 55 firework blasts.
On a downer though, i wasn't drunk at new year :( good job with the setting off of fireworks an all but i was feeling really bad on sat, had come down with a headache which had been lingering for a few days and really broke out on sat, paracetamol and ibuprofen combined wouldn't move it and i felt sick as well :( Sunday i woke up with a bit of a headache but it had mostly passed, i was left with a really sore throat now. Damned cold thought i'd got over it before christmas, now it returned for new year, bastards. Well feeling much better if not a little tired now, driving takes its toll.

Fucking Awesome

That's about the easiest way to describe the Nine Inch Nails gig in Manchester last night. Went with my neighbour, who's my gig buddy. Didn't go into the mosh, i'd probably been one of the 10 or so who were removed by ambulance staff. It was so hot too, we stood fair enough back and didn't bouce around too much, but were both had to keep wiping the sweat from our eyes every few minutes. Being the driver too after a few pints it was onto water, but i'd have probably done that either way as i'd have passed out otherwise. Well onto the gig from the opening Terrible Lie to Head like a hole, they rocked the Apollo like no one has before. The anthemic Hurt had everyone singig along and waving lighters in the air, and Closer rocked. Had a good mix of new and old and some stuff i wasn't too familiar with, but they play a lot at live shows.

Woo day off tomorrow, haven't decided what to do with my time, last 2 days off i've had lazy days so i might pop into liverpool and spend my hard earned money.

Leeds woo

just got back from Lel's leeds do and it was awesome, rock clubs rule. I have battle scars from the club too which is cool, not worth going to a rock club unless you have something to show from it. i have a 6 inch graze up the inside of my left shin and a bruise at the top of my right leg from the falling off the stage being a prat ^_^ Lisa kept acting like mum everytime i fell over, telling me off. Got very wasted and felt fine this morning, probably due to the excessive amount of water forced on me at the end of the night. Train was a bit of a cock coming back as we should have been able to get off one and straight onto another but the leeds train the manchester was delayed so when we got into manchester the other train had just left so we had to hang around for 3/4 of an hour for the next one :( me tired now.

Been quiet this past week

i've been a little quiet on here that last week, not too much to do with work either, just not been having much of a PC week. Been watching West Wing again most nights, halfway through season 3 now and it's still great. (Thanks to Clare for introducing this to me ^_^)

Last Friday went to watch Audioslave in Manchester which was good, wen't with neighbour and tow of his buddies from work, who weren't too impressed though. Bought the obligatory T-Shirt.
Following night just as i'd finished work my mate who got married recently rang me up to remind me there was a lads night out in Liverpool going on for his brother who get's married in a few weeks (his brother fiancee was having her hen night) i got wasted and threw up my chinese. Damn them for having meal halfway through drinking session.
Sunday was off work :D first sunday off in a while. Did a promy run on FFXI.
Monday back to work :( then for rest of week not a lot.

And now some sad news

Had to put my dog down today, he was old and wobbly. I did get quite upset he was 16 and he's been in the family since I was 9. Poor thing.

Going to pub l8r to drown sorrows.

Yay i now have a whole 39 hours before i have to go into work again :D huzzar for days off (first in 11 days). And what makes it even better is my supervisor is back in from sunday next week as they have finally managed to diagnose him properly and can trerat him now. So that means Leeds, yay. Kickboxing later, i may have to punch Zerebubus in the head. Why? you ask, because!

I hate bitching about work, but!!!

OMFG, i haven't had a day off since Tori Amos (yes including weekends) Which was a week and a half ago. I'm supposed to be getting a day off on wednesday Woo and that makes up for the 56 hours i worked last week and the 48 i'm working this week (with the day off), i hate having no staff. What makes it worse is thery start bitching cause they only have one day off this week and are working over 30 hours. Hopefully everything goes back to normal next week or i may not be able to make Leeds :(

On a different note i finally made it to lvl 36 with DRK on FFXI no one wanted me in a party (bastards don't know what they're missing) so i killed some Berry Grubs for the remaining 100 exp i needed.

Work sucks

We'll today was supposed to be my day off. Hmmmm how things change :( although it couldn't really be helped, my duty manager was rushed into hospital on friday cause he was coughing up blood. They've kept him in to do tests so it's a bit slefish complaining. Went to a friends bbq yesterday, which was good, although the thing with friends bbq's is that you feel kinda like a 3rd wheel when all their family is there and you're on your own. But i know i good few of them now so i was made to feel welcome. However because i knew i was working today i couldn't get shitfaced :(
Well work went okay today, managed to get quite a bit done, i should have been bored but the lazy fuckers who worked last night hadn't done an awful lot. That's about it for today really. Ain't got much else to do.

Last 2 days

Okay first off Thursday was the first time i had drove any sort of real distance in the car on my own since i've been driving (like over 2 years). It wasn't too bad i guess, although the conversations got a little boring after a while. I now know the real reason i bought that 12 cd multichanger, Wow what a life saver. Well as i was going to see Tori Amos i had to have a themed journey so i stuck in the new album and a compilation i had burned of some of my favorite tracks. The traffic on the M6 was stupid as there were lots of roadworks with not a lot happening, and also bloody restricted 40 zone with lot's of cameras (BOOOOOOOOO!!!!) once i cleared the roadworks the traffic didn't do it's usual dispersing trick, i only found out when i for the Keele (sp) service station that there was a great whopping Quary tipper truck on the back of a big wagon straddling 2 lanes of the motorway so 3 lanes of traffic were being pushed into one. I so needed to pee at this point but it was the choice of clear the traffic now or go pee at the services and be stuck in it again when i got out (so i held it in :P) Next services 40 miles away on the A50, god i wish i'd pee'd earlier (not that you needed that information. So anyway after Derby services it wasn't far to Nottingham, and my final destination (yeah right) One junction up the M1 and yay Nottingham. Now before i continue i have to say my city driving history isn't particuarly great, i've been to Bath, Northampton, Cambridge and Manchester and i've got lost in each of them. You can now add Nottingham to that too. An hour after first making it into Nottingham i finally found where i was going. After parking up and almost crying at the parking costs (£13) i rang Clare and Karen to discover they'd pretty much been on the same scenic tour off Nottingham i had, and after directing them in we went on a wonder around as we had 6 hours to kill before the gig. After a few shops and Coffee (i don't actually like coffee but it keeps me awake) Louise and her friend Lynda met up with us and we had food in a Weatherspoons (MMMMM Steak) Sian (sp sorry i have no idea how to spell it) Clare's friend met up with us just before we were due to head over to the gig. After perusing the merchandise i decided i wasn't going to buy anything and break my tradition of buying a T-Shirt of every artist i've been to see, the shirts weren't particularly something i'd wear and a pair of Orange knickers ain't my style. We dropped the few bits we'd picked up around Nottingham off at the car and headed back to the gig.
Firstly the support. Tom McCrae was the warm up and damn he was good. Very mellow, and bitter. Mix of Jeff Buckley and Nick Drake. Love song that weren't basically. After he'd finished we went down to the merchandise stall and bought his 3 albums and Ep between us.
And onto Tori. She was great, sound wasn't particularly though. After playing a good mix of new and old, halfway through the Beekeeper, (title track of the new album) an usher from the venue was making his way across the front of that stage, to possibly stop someone taking a photo, or something, they weren't jumping on the stage or anything, and she stopped playing a took a fit on him which was met with rapturous applause and laughter where she told him she was the beekeeper and would sting his ass. After which she continued the song. She played a good hour and half altogether, after breaks taken out and what not. She also played Street Spirit (Fade Out) - the radiohead track- which was awesome.
After the gig was a longish drive back to Louise's house, via Lynda's. Sleeping on a wooded floor ain't much fun nor comfortable but it beat a 2 hour + drive back home.

Friday we decided to head into Cambridge where we descended upon Emsie's house and dragged here kicking and screaming to Teri aki (actually the kicking and screaming is a lie, after she said on the phone she couldn't go it took all of 3 seconds to persuade her to come along) After Teri Aki Louise's crew split off from us to decided over going punting in the river, whether they did or not i don't yet know. We (Myself, Clare, Karen and Emsie) walked around town for a bit and Emise showed us the Sweatdrop book that was being sold in a real book shop, which is cool. Then we went back to Emise's to play some Japanese drum game on the PS2 which was a lot of fun even though i mainly sucked at it but had fun twating the drums :P. After an hour or so of this we had to bid farewell to Cambridge again and make my long journey back up north to normal boring life :(
3 hours it took me to get home :( which considering the delays on the M6 again wasn't too bad at all. But 3 hours of driving is very boring especially on your own. We'll it's bed time now, and i gotta get up for work in the morning, god that sucks. in for 7am on a Saturday, it should be outlawed. g'night all.
